In 1994, a group of parents and educators came together with a dream of a new kind of school. One that offered a way for every child to maximize his or her potential. A place where teachers and students could develop close bonds, fostering a love of learning and a desire to make a difference in the world. A place where students were empowered not just by learning from books, but by DOING things that made an impact on their own lives and the lives of others. | |

So, with just 14 kids, and a dream, FSC began. It wasn’t long before we realized that the dream was infectious. And it worked. So well, in fact, that in 2001, we added a Middle School so that students could enjoy and extend the FSC learning experience from Kindergarten through 8th grade. Foundations School Community is now the only K-8th grade progressive school in the San Fernando Valley. Our enrollment continues to grow each year, as do our dreams. Our staff and board of directors are actively engaged in efforts to bring new programs and offerings to our students, and provide more opportunities for families who want to join a diverse, vibrant community.
