How do you find the best summer camp program for your child? Foundations Summer Camp program, conveniently located in the Kennesaw/Marietta area, offer the perfect balance between fun, safety, and learning, for rising Pre-K students through rising 6th grade students.
Children should have fun over the summer weeks, but many families feel like they have to sacrifice safety when choosing an unknown summer camp program. Typical programs have 25 students to 1 teacher, and their ability to supervise and interact individually with students is very limited. Summer camp programs that do multiple off-site field trips each week with these group sizes can be very difficult to manage, and potentially unsafe. At Foundations, there is one teacher for every ten to thirteen children, and we bring the field trips to the students each week, with just two local off-site field trips during the summer. Students love the personal experience of having the Atlanta Center for Puppetry Arts and the Atlanta Zoo, just two of our in-house field trips, come to them! And with such low teacher to child ratios, students are well supervised and enjoy personal attention from their teachers.
The day at Foundations is full of hand-on activities and small and large group games. Each week the activities are focused around the theme for the week. Children have a variety of spaces to explore during the day–the open gym, art and game room, classroom spaces with SMART boards, Discovery Park nature outdoor area, and the playgrounds. They move throughout these spaces during the day, In many other summer camp programs, the children are relegated to one classroom, or one open gym space, and have to spend the day that area. At Foundations, they will not get bored with their space–there is always something new and different for them to explore.
The National Summer Learning Association research shows that students lose up to 30% of the gains they made during the school year while they are out for summer break. Foundations Summer Camp programs offer refreshers in the academic subjects of Reading, Math, and Spelling, in fun formats, like group games, so that students can maintain what they learned over the school year.
