Growing Child Care Center In Kennesaw, GA

Since opening in 2004, Foundations For The Future School has maintained steady growth and expansion, in an industry that is often filled with numerous options for families. The teachers and administrative staff at Foundations work diligently to create a school environment where children feel comfortable and enjoy learning, parents feel confident in their child’s care and daily exploration, and where great teachers invest in their careers. Over the past 13 years, the staff and administration at Foundations has maintained the highest level of accreditation available to child development centers through NAEYC and Advanc-ed. Both accrediting agencies employ standards that are based on research of the development and education of young children. These standards were created with input from experts and educators from around the country and help to ensure the highest level of care available. Not only are the standards focused on the care of children enrolled, the standards also focus on a safe and healthful environment. These standards ensure that centers provide appropriate and well-maintained indoor and outdoor physical environments, as well as equipment and materials to facilitate child

Childcare Facilities: How Daycare Facility Design Affects Your Child

Have you ever walked into a building or room and felt different? At first, you aren’t sure why. Sometimes you notice right away. Other times it takes a while. All you know is when you entered the building, or room, something about your mood changed. There is a science behind these changes–how the environment affects humans emotionally and physically.  There are different areas of study, including color psychology, study of room design and layout, and the use of water in design to name a few.  Businesses have long used these findings to improve sales and employee performance.  Now some educators are finally incorporating these methodologies to improve student performance and the general well-being of your child. The Use Of Nature In Child Care Facilities The use of nature in rooms and design is probably one of the most positively correlated relationships. There is a fancy word for the use of nature in design: Biophilia. It refers to the positive benefits of including elements of nature in building and room layout. Details such as color, lighting, textures, patterns, and water all

Parents often find this period of their child’s care and education to be stressful, as the negative and positive consequences of this decision flow through their minds: “If my daughter isn’t exposed to another language at age 3, is she on the path to low academic achievement and inability to compete in a globalized economy?” “Do I ruin my child’s chances of getting into a great public school gifted program or great private school if I don’t send them to the “right” preschool or child care?” These are just a couple of the many questions and worries parents have expressed to me over the years. Choosing The Best Child Care in Marietta, GA For Your Child The good news is that there are some tried and true things parents should consider when selecting a childcare center.  You can quickly

Measles Vaccinations in Georgia Daycare Centers

As the country watches the number of measles cases slowly rise, concerns begin to surface about the safety of children in childcare centers in Georgia.  Georgia, unlike some states, does not make vaccination rates of daycare centers and schools available easily online.  The Georgia Department of Health publishes general information about measles on their website.  The Georgia Department of Health also requires daycare centers and schools to immediately report any cases of measles.  From 2005-2014, there were only five confirmed cases of measles in Georgia.   The Georgia Department of Health is in charge of regulating the requirements for daycare centers and schools, and they audit each childcare center and school each year to ensure compliance.  Georgia requires daycare centers and schools to provide one of two things for each enrolled student: 1) a GA Form 3231 immunization form that is not expired, or 2) a notarized exemption form, which is allowed for religious or medical reasons.   The LA Times news article published February 4th, 2015 titled “Many California Childcare Centers Have Low Vaccination Rates” cites: “Experts say a 92% vaccination

Comparing Primrose, Goddard, and Foundations School

Comparing Primrose, Goddard, and Foundations School Have you noticed that the information on most childcare center websites sound very similar?  Here are some things you will find on the Primrose, Goddard, and yes, even our website: child-initiated curriculum accreditations whole child development and the list goes on! Yet there are large differences between Primrose, Goddard, and Foundations School, so how do you actually compare them?  Let’s look at these in more detail: Child-Initiated Learning Though Primrose and Goddard express the philosophy of following children’s interests through child-initiated curriculum, they have a corporately planned and set curriculum, which severely limits any learning outside of the pre-selected theme.  Come tour Foundations and look closely  at our classrooms.  Even ones that are the same age group have completely different projects and activities happening.  This is because the teachers really do follow the children’s interests, working in the Goals and Objectives.  At the end of the year, each classroom has met their Goals and Objectives in a way that unique and engaging to that particular group of children.   Accreditations Not all accreditation

Foundations Best Toy Award! Careplay Ride-On Push-Cars

As a Kennesaw child care center and school in operation since 2004, Foundations for the Future has seen the best (and worst) in children’s products. We have had hundreds of children put toys to the test over the years, and we know which ones hold up to the attentions of very creative, bright, and determined children. These Careplay Ride-On Push Cars have remained a favorite, and they hold up great, even when used as off-road vehicles, which is probably not the original intent–they absolutely love to ride them down the little hill on the playground, and race them on the sidewalks. Age recommendation: We recommend these for children just learning to walk through about two and half years old. Three year olds still like them, but they are starting to get too big to use them appropriately, so you might begin to see three years trying to use them in other less desirable ways, like standing on them…. Top 5 Reasons We Love the Careplay Ride-On Push Cars:

Childcare Funding for Military Families

Foundations is proud to be one of the few approved military child care providers in the #Kennesaw #Marietta area! Many military families are eligible for financial subsidies that help pay their child care tuition at Foundations. We find that most military families do not even know about this great program, and it is an incredible benefit to the people that faithfully serve our country. The beginning of the school year is a great time for new families to start. We have very limited spaces in our #infant and young #toddler programs, and we are filling up fast in our early preschool and #preschool classes. Many active duty military families are eligible for up to $1500/month of assistance on their childcare tuition! Army Child Care Assistance Information (copied from on 6/22/17) “Army Child Care Fee Assistance was created to provide authorized Reserve and Active Duty personnel assistance in locating, selecting, and offsetting the cost of civilian child care when on-base child care is not available or a viable option for the service member and their family. The programs available through Child
